LHD boundaries as described are approximate and subject to change. Consult the LHD Study Report on file with the relevant local district commission or municipal authority to verify district boundaries and whether a specific property, particularly one in proximity of a boundary line, is within the district. Also note that LHD boundaries may differ from those of State or National Register Districts.
This is a five-bay two-story center-chimney Colonial house with narrow overhang at eaves and narrow corner boards. The gable roof is sharply peaked, then extends back as in salt-box effect, but ends at a two-story elevation. Windows are eight-over-twelve sash all over the house, and have wooden lintels, surrounds and sills. Lintels have narrow drip board between sliding and window frame.
This house is significant because it is one of the few 18th century houses remaining in West Hartford. It is being very sensitively restored except for the fact that there was possible a side corner door which has now been removed. No house mentioned.] [Isaac Webster Jun and Gideon Webster from Timothy Goodman, October 30, 1778, 12 acres with dwelling house. Hartford Land Records, Vol 15, p. 343.]
